My name is Jessica Fair and I am the proud principal of Van Alstyne Middle School. After beginning a career in corporate America, I chose to pursue education to make a positive impact on teachers, families, and students. Inspired by my own two children and their learning needs, I am a passionate educator dedicated to helping every child succeed.

I have been a part of the education community since 2011 and have extensive experience spanning from Pre-K, elementary, and the middle school settings, all with a focus on growing greatness in students and staff. Before joining VAMS, I have worked in roles such as mother, teacher, K-5 GT Identification and Assessment Lead and K-5 GT Curriculum and Instruction Lead, curriculum writer, and Assistant Principal.

As the lead learner of VAMS, I believe in the power of education. I have obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University, and a Doctorate in Pre K–12 Educational Leadership and Policy from Southern Methodist University. I believe strongly in creating a culture of learning for all.

Instilling good citizenship and partnering with families in our community is very important to me. As a Van Alstyne resident I live less than a mile away from our campus with my husband, Quinn, and with our two sons, Ryker and Griffin. We chose this community and raised our boys on a small alpaca and bee farm. I believe it is a privilege to partner with our VAMS students, families, and staff as we work together to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all.
