I am honored to serve as the Principal of Van Alstyne Middle School! I received my bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University, my master's degree from Texas A&M-Commerce University, and my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. This will be my 18th year in education, my 10th year in Van Alstyne ISD, and my 5th year as principal of VAMS. I have previously taught in Allen ISD, Melissa ISD, and Van Alstyne ISD.
I have been a VA resident since 2000 along with my wonderful husband, Russell. We have 4 kids, Austin – 21 years old, Samantha – Freshman at Vernon College, Lauren – 11th grade, and Tim – 8th grade. I enjoy watching Red Raider football, watching my kids play sports, gardening, outdoor activities, and reading. I am honored to work with a dedicated group of staff members and a wonderful group of students and parents here at VAMS!
Mrs. Timpanaro is beginning her 4th year serving as Assistant Principal at VAMS. Mrs. Timpanaro has taught ELAR, writing, reading intervention, Texas history, U.S. history, and science at the middle school level. She has also served as an instructional coach and ELAR department chair. She received her Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2010 and her Master of Educational Administration in 2013.
Mrs. Timpanaro is excited to be a part of the Van Alstyne ISD family and serve in the community. Her goal in education is making sure that ALL kids learn, and to make sure that both students and teachers are supported. She is looking forward to beginning the new year with Van Alstyne and work alongside such a supportive campus.
