Student Pickup and Dropoff Guidelines
Morning Dropoff Information
- Bus riders - All students that ride a bus to school will be dropped off by the bus driver in the bus drop off loop on the northeast side at the front of the school. Bus riders will enter the building through the north cafeteria entrance (door #2) and will walk through the main hall to the gym. All students will wait in the gym until released to their classroom by school personnel.
- Car riders, walkers, and all other students - All students except bus riders will enter the school every morning through the gym entrances in the south parking lot. The doors on the south side of the gym (doors #8 & #9) will open for student entry at 7:30 AM. Students will be directed to the main gym once inside the building. If a student needs to eat breakfast, they will be allowed to walk to the cafeteria, eat breakfast, then return to the gym. Please study the map that is attached to this letter for appropriate traffic directions.
- ALL DROP OFF TRAFFIC must enter from Highway 5 on the east end into the south parking lot. (NO TURN is permitted into the south lot from Williams Way.)
- No student drop off will be permitted on Williams Way, in the Sanford ES parking lot, or in the VAMS parking lot.
Afternoon Pickup Information
Students are organized and dismissed as follows:
- Walkers – Students will be dismissed by the 3:31 PM bell and will exit the building through the south gym doors to walk on the east side of the parking lot to the crosswalk at the Sanford Elementary entrance on Williams Way. *Please Note: Parents will not be permitted to park in the VAMS or Sanford ES parking lots or on Williams Way and wait for their children. There is no “walk-up” option for student pick up*
- Bus Riders – Students will be dismissed to the bus pick up area near door #1 and load the buses as they arrive.
